The lack of sweetness is one of the most appealing aspects of a Vodka & Tonic. The quinine in the tonic water gives it a dry, semi-bitter taste that is refreshing. A perfect accompaniment to any meal, and doubles as a palate cleaner.
This drink is basic - you can easily add any flavorings to this and it will take quite well.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Vodka
- Tonic water
- Lemon or lime wedge (optional)
- Ice
- Highball glass
Instructions
- Add vodka to Highball glass
- Fill glass with ice
- Top up the glass with tonic water
- Add a lemon wedge (optional)
- Stir the mixture
Notes
A version of this recipe adds a 1/4 oz of lime juice to the mix, for a tart edge. If you decide to go in that direction, make sure your wedge is lime and not lemon.
Our favorite variation of this is to add some grenadine for the sweetness and color.
