Tokyo Tea AKA Green Long Island Iced Tea; Experiment #0420
Nothing quite beats you up at the end of a long day like a Long Island. Long Island Iced Tea (LIIT) is a longstanding mainstay and can be ordered basically at every bar that has liquor. LIIT's are infamous for getting people extraordinarily intoxicated. This version uses Midori and Coconut rum for a more tropical taste. It should be called a Tropical Melon LIIT in our opinion!
Ingredients
- 1 Part Coconut Rum
- 1 Part Midori
- 1 Part Vodka
- 1 Part Gin
- 1 Part Tequia Blanco or Agave
- 0.5 parts Orange Curacao
- 0.5 parts Simple Syrup
- 1 Fresh Squeezed Lemon
- 1 Fresh Squeezed Lime
- Pretty and Ugly ice.
- Soda to top.
Instructions
- Combine all non-carbonated liquids into the small end of your Boston Shaker.
- Add ice to Large end of Boston Shaker, pour mixture, and agitate excessively.
- Strain out the ugly ice, and pour over fresh, pretty ice in a clean Collins or Hurricane glass.
- Top with Soda if necessary, and add a Lime or Lemon (OR BOTH!) Wheel as garnish.
Notes
You can use any flavor liquor to enhance this drink. We recommend using a Sweet Gin, a Top-shelf Vodka, Malibu Coconut Rum (you really don't taste the coconut!), and a high end Tequila. Ideally, you should enjoy all the ingredients that go into this drink as your choices will make an impact to your experiment!
