Vodka Salty Dog
Ask for “ breakfast” on a tiny beach on the Greek island of Mykonos, and you’ll be served a tall glass of grapefruit juice and vodka. Vodka and grapefruit juice is called a Greyhound, but the addition salt makes it a Salty Dog.
This drink is actually quite delicious. The salt really helps balance the flavor out and does not leave a strange aftertaste as you might expect.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Vodka
- 5 oz Grapefruit juice
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- Ice
- Highball glass
Instructions
- Add ice cubes to your Highball glass
- Pour the vodka into the glass
- Add the grapefruit juice and the salt
- Stir the mixture thoroughly
Notes
To enhance the "salty" aspect of your Vodka Salty Dog, rim the glass with the salt, in stead of adding it to the mixture.
Garnish with a slice of fresh grapefruit.
